1. Nepal, First Impressions

God Lives In The Himalayas will be filmed in Nepal in the early months of 2008.

We were so blown away by the beauty of the land, the places we visited and the people of Nepal that we decided we had to share some of the pictures from our location recce activities.

Our first glimpse of the Himalayas!
Our first glimpse of the Himalayas!
A little later…
The Bamboo Swing – a marvel of engineering, strictly for kids who want to have a high!
To these kids, we are more amusing than their swing!
What’re you looking at?
The Mountain Flight: A rush of people at 5:30 AM!
But, there is no need for any of that. Just a wait, or two…
And some more....
Finally…At 8:30 AM, Buddha Air FLIGHT No. 110! We’re ON!
But, with a view like this, who could complain?
How often would you be invited into the cockpit to look at this?
And right away… Mount Everest. Can’t say if we’re flying higher than the highest peak in the world.
This is certainly big enough for God, one would think.
A “Thank you” to the ladies who flew us…
Soon after… we left for Daman in our quest to find the “village” for the movie.
Gambling is legal here….
No age and other cumbersome restrictions…. There’s money to be made, and all are welcome!
No IDs required either! How much are you risking, Sir?
You lose, you leave, that’s it!
This is Jeet Singh Sherpa, the most energetic little princess in the world!
Some other pictures from Kathmandu:
Sanjay (to the right) and H M Ramachandra, our director of photography.
Steet in Thamel, one of the areas in Kathmandu.
Buddhist temple in the heart of Kathmandu.
Haven’t we met somewhere?
A very friendly Ganesha doesn’t let laziness, litter and footwear disturb him!
Bakery time!
Entrance to the beautiful old age home.
…with its own temple on the lawn
And on the inside.
One of the residents.
The Royal Palace is a little different.
A lot of cinema quite different from God Lives In The Himalayas!
Kathmandu from the air… plenty of open spaces!
"Hi and Bye!" - Blessings upon thee!
